There is a quick example that you follow through the course of the book on and Ashwin describes what's going on with the code.As with all the 'Instant' books, there is enough there to get you introduced to the given topic and they are not meant to be a book to learn everything. I see these books as a way to introduce you to a topic that you might think is interesting and they show you a sample of what you can do.If you're looking into using GLEW, then this book is a good place to start.
This is a book which shows your around the world of GLEW. If you are a beginner of OpenGL and programming mostly on windows platform, this book can give you some relief. However, the examples in the book are somewhat "old". Although the book is mainly focused on introducing GLEW to the reader, it will appear to be more comfortable if the examples, especially those using shaders, are written using OpenGL 4.0 or later.
Easy read, practical and good introduction to GLEW.My only concern is that is a bit too short, although other people may consider that an advantage.Can be read and the examples programmed in less than a day.Clear examples and clean code makes it very easy to follow them.
