This book is part of a series for Eerie Elementary. I found this series by accident, but after reading the first book to my third grade class I was hooked. The kids were as well! They loved it! That was a few years ago and I read the series now every year. I love how it is fast paced, but easy to follow and understand. It is something the students can latch on to and mantain the interest. It is great to help build comprehension in my struggling readers. The arthor even included questions in the back of the book. In this book the kids get to meet a relative of Orson Eerie, Jasper! It answered some previous thoughts we had from the earlier books. We are ready for the next one!
{My thoughts} – I’ve come to love these Eerie Elementary books. In this one Sam’s class ends up getting a substitute teacher. The teacher ends up being a relative of Orson Eerie the guy that possesses the school.The three hall monitors Sam, Lucy and Antonio discover the new substitute is actually on their side. Because of this the four of them work together to try and undo what Orson Eerie had done all those years ago that had allowed him the ability to make the school come alive.If you’d like to know what happens you’ll need to read the book. Like the previous books in the series, I found it to be very much engaging for the reader. I look forward to reading more books in this series in the future.I recommend this book for any beginner reader that is interested in slightly scary stories.
My son is an avid reader and his three favorite series are Eerie Elementary, Captain Underpants, and My Big Fat Zombie Goldfish. He has read every book in Eerie Elementary that has come out so far and already asked me to preorder the next one. They are made for approximately 3rd grade reading level. He is in 1st grade but is advanced in reading from most of his fellow classmates.
Just love these books. Great for the young reader interested in starting a chapter book and great for the parent who wants to listen and follow along. I have all of the books in this series and hope the make more. The kids are independent and think on their feet, the have close calls and creative solutions for their problems. Keep them coming.
Bought this and all of the other books in this series for my son as Christmas presents. He had never read them, but loves this author's other books. My son is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade. He loves the books but said they are little below his reading level. He likes to read them between tougher books as a "break" ... Love this author and none of his books have ever disappointed.
This is a seriously addicting series. My 7-year-old boys cannot get enough. We're always waiting on pins and needles for the next one to be released!
Anything to get my Son to read more. My kids loves this series of books. He got his friends into series and they share and talk about the stories.
Great series for 1-3 grades. My son loves them!
